Roof collapses at Detroit beauty supply store

Detroit fire crews were on the scene of a roof collapse Wednesday afternoon at a business on the city's west side.

Three people who were inside the Davison Beauty Supply at the time of the collapse escaped unharmed, officials said. The business sits at the corner of W. Davison and 14th.

Dekoda Sanford said around 2 p.m. Wednesday, he was washing cars across the street at Rocky's Car Wash when he heard a loud boom.

"We watched the whole thing fall apart," he said. "We saw the bricks because they were falling. It was really scary. It made me jump."

Detroit police and water department employees also were on the scene.
