1 arrested after man, 65, fatally shot in Detroit
Detroit — A 33-year-old man was arrested Thursday evening in connection to a fatal shooting on the city’s east side, police said.
Police were called around 7:50 p.m. to a home on the 18000 block of Fleming after a family member discovered a 65-year-old victim who had been shot, Sgt. Cassandra Lewis said.
“The victim died from the gunshot wound he received,” she said.
The suspect was arrested at the scene, Lewis said. She declined to comment on the relationship between the victim and suspect.
“I’m not going to comment on that because there are no charges,” she said. “This is all preliminary information and they’re still investigating.”
Anyone with information is asked to call the Detroit Police Department at (313) 596-2260 or Crime Stoppers at 1 (800) SPEAK-UP.
