1 dead in robbery on Detroit’s west side
Detroit — One man was killed and another robbed early Friday by three suspects on the city’s west side, police said.
The victims, ages 35 and 19, were walking around 1:50 a.m. near Linwood and Hooker when they were approached by three men, Sgt. Cassandra Lewis said. Two of the suspects were armed.
“One of (the suspects) fired shots, striking the (35-year-old) victim twice,” she said. “Then they ordered the other victim to the ground, stole some personal items and fled the location on foot.”
The younger victim called police, Lewis said. The wounded 35-year-old victim was taken to a nearby hospital where he died.
