Mother in freezer case investigated for jail fight
Mitchelle Blair, the Detroit mother charged with killing of two of her children and keeping their bodies in a freezer, is under investigation for an incident at the Wayne County Jail, officials confirmed Friday.
"The matter in question is reported to have occurred (Thursday)," Wayne County Jail spokeswoman Paula Bridges said in an email Friday. "Beyond that I am unable to be more specific."
According media reports, the incident involved a jail fight.
Blair, 35, has been charged with first-degree murder, torture and child abuse. Court deputies found the bodies of two of Blair's children, Stoni Blair, 13, and Stephen Berry, 9, inside a freezer March 24 as they served an eviction notice at Blair's Detroit apartment.
Blair is also accused of torturing her two surviving children.
