Detroit police seek parents of child found on east side

Detroit police are looking for the parents of a young child found on the city's east side.
Off-duty Detroit Public Schools officers found the boy around 6:15 p.m. Friday walking in the area of Eight Mile and Alcoy, said Sgt. Cassandra Lewis of the Detroit Police Department. The boy is believed to be 3 or 4 years old and his name may be Matthew, she said.
The boy was brought to the Detroit Police Department at 11187 Gratiot. He is wearing a black Coogi shirt and blue pants.
