Detroit — Police released security footage Thursday of two suspects accused of passing fraudulent checks from a Detroit business.

Footage shot Feb. 17 inside Nordstrom at Partridge Creek in Clinton Township shows a man and woman making two purchases using the fraudulent checks, Detroit police said.

The checks are reprints using routing and account numbers stolen from a business in Detroit.

Both suspects placed merchandise onto the sales counter before the male suspect walked away, police said. The female suspect then made two purchases by presenting fraudulent checks to the cashier.

After completing two transactions, the suspects left the sales area together.

Both suspects are described by police as African-American with medium complexions. The female suspect was wearing a pink hat, pink scarf, a black coat and black boots.

The male suspect has black hair worn in a short haircut, police said. He was wearing a black coat, dark shirt, black pants and brown shoes.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Detroit Police Department at (313) 596-1137 or Crime Stoppers at 1 (800) SPEAK-UP. Citizens also may email the officer in charge of the case at cobbj898@detroitmi.gov.
