Detroit firefighters clear series of fires on east side
Detroit — Firefighters on the city’s east side had a long and busy night battling a series of suspected arson fires that started early Thursday morning.
According to the Detroit Fire Department, there were no reported injuries. The fires reportedly encompassed an area that included Mount Elliott, East Grand Boulevard and Warren Avenue.
The fires were located on McDougall and Frederick, Frederick and Elmwood, Moran and Frederick and McDougall and Farnsworth.
All of the dwellings appeared to be vacant or abandoned. An investigation is underway.
