Detroit — The Michigan Department of Transportation has announced the reopening of the NB Interstate 75 ramp at I-375 has been rescheduled for early Saturday morning instead of some time Friday.

MDOT was forced to close the curved and heavily traveled ramp on Sunday after a tanker, owned by Nour Light Petroleum Transport, crashed and caught fire at about 8:45 a.m.

No one was injured in the crash, which ignited 9,000 gallons of gasoline on the ramp that takes NB I-75 travelers over the Gratiot underpass.

According to MDOT, repairs included replacing median guardrails plus the removal of a 300-foot-by-15 foot section of concrete.

After conducting an investigation, the Michigan State Police cited the truck driver for careless driving.
