Detroit — A parole absconder was arrested Wednesday afternoon after leading troopers on a chase on the city’s east side, according to the Michigan State Police.

Around 11:55 a.m., troopers assigned to the MSP Metro Post were looking for a suspect wanted for a parole absconding warrant and sex offender registry violations, according to police. The troopers spotted the suspect traveling near Interstate 94 and French in a Trailblazer.

The suspect failed to stop and led police to I-75 and Davison Highway, where the trooper used a maneuver to stop the vehicle.

The suspect was taken into custody. There were no injuries during the pursuit, police said.

Police declined to release further information.
