Girl, 14, shot in back after argument in Detroit
A 14-year-old girl shot on Detroit’s east side Thursday afternoon was in serious condition, police said.
The girl and a friend were walking home from a liquor store around 4:20 p.m., and a man in the store followed them, said Detroit police spokeswoman Sgt. Cassandra Lewis.
The incident occurred after the girl and her friend arrived at a house in the 4600 block of Neff.
“An argument ensued from someone at her house ... and led to gunfire,” said Lewis. “She was struck once in the back as a result, and is currently listed in serious condition.”
Police do not know the relationship between the gunman and the victim. The man left before police arrived.
No arrests have been made, and the investigation continues.
