Detroit — Three people were shot Sunday at a Detroit park filled with up to 300 people at a barbecue on the city’s east side.

A 39-year-old man was in critical condition Sunday night. The other victims — a 33-year-old man and a 24-year-old woman — were in stable condition, said Detroit police Sgt. Cassandra Lewis.

The shooting happened around 6:30 p.m. at Maheras-Gentry Park, near Avondale and Navahoe. Lewis said police are looking for two shooters.

On June 20, 11 people were shot at a large block party on a basketball court at Webb and Dexter. A 19-year-old was killed. Police said the investigation was stymied by lack of cooperation from residents who may have witnessed the shooting.

Police Chief James Craig said at the time that shootings at parties with more than 200 people were becoming an increasing concern for the department.
