A section of Interstate 75 reopened Monday after a weekend closure for demolition of an expressway overpass for the M-1 Rail project.

Crews demolished the northbound lanes of the Woodward overpass near Comerica Park.

The work was completed as planned and the section reopened Monday morning, said Dan Lijana, spokesman for the M-1 Rail project.

The weekend closure affected entrance and exit ramps in the area.

The project will continue this weekend with a closure of Interstate 94 in both directions between the Lodge Freeway and I-75 as crews replace steel beams, Lijana said.
