Suspect sought in homicide on Detroit’s west side

Detroit police are seeking the public’s help to find a suspect wanted in connection with a homicide on the city’s west side.

The body of a 51-year-old man was found at 8:40 p.m. Aug. 9 on the grass near the curb in the 3000 block of West McNichols, police said in a statement.

The Detroit Police Department is seeking the public's assistance in identifying and locating a black male suspect wanted in connection with a homicide that occurred on W. Mcnichols at Parkside. On August 9, 2015 at 8:40p.m., the 51-year-old male homicide victim was discovered lying on the grass near the curb in the 3000 block of W. Mcnichols.

Investigators on Monday released a video clip and images of a possible suspect captured on camera at a store the same night.

Anyone who knows his whereabouts or has information related to the crime is asked to call the Detroit Police Department at (313) 596-2260. Anonymous tips also can be left on the DPD Connect app or through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK-UP.
