1 arrested;1 hurt after car flees Detroit police
One person was arrested after fleeing from Detroit police and striking two cars Friday night on the city’s near west side.
Officers tried to stop a 2006 Dodge Magnum with an improper license plate around 5:40 p.m. but the driver refused and sped off, said Sgt. Cassandra Lewis, a spokeswoman for the Detroit Police Department.
The vehicle then hit a Chevrolet Cobalt as well as a taxi van near the intersection of Grand River and McGraw, Lewis said.
The driver of the Chevy was not hurt; the passenger in the taxi van reported minor injuries, she said.
Officers recovered two guns from the Dodge and arrested one of the three people inside, but two fled on foot, Lewis said.
Investigators did not release a description of the pair Friday night.
