Detroit police looking for fake cops in robbery

Detroit — Police are on the lookout for five or six armed men who falsely identified themselves as officers before forcing their way into a home early Monday morning and robbing the owner.

According to police, the incident occurred at 2:15 a.m. in the 12900 block of Klinger in an area south of Davison Avenue and between Conant and Joseph Campau.

The victim, a 26-year-old woman, told police the men were dressed in black and wore black T-shirts with the word “police” printed on them.

The suspects robbed the woman and ransacked her home. She was not physically injured during the incident.

Neighbors told police they heard the men yelling “police” and banging on the door of the home that was robbed.
