Detroit police seek attempted robbery suspect

Detroit police are looking fora suspect wanted for an attempted robbery at a gas station last month.

According to police, between 3p.m. and 3:30 p.m. Aug. 28 a 66-year-old female victim entered the Citgo gas station in the 17500 block of Grand River to make a purchase. As the woman began selecting items a man who was also inside the gas station grabbed her by her neck and attempted to snatch her gold chain, police said.

The woman and suspect struggled and the woman broke free, police said. The suspect ran out of the store. Nothing was taken and no injuries were reported, police said.

The suspect is described as haveing a light complexion, in his 20s, standing 6-feet-1inches tall and weighs 165 pounds. He is also described as having an afro, full beard and was wearing a black t-shirt, brown pants and white gym shoes.
