Detroit Police officer injured in Biden motorcade

A Detroit Police officer is in stable condition after being injured on a motorcycle as part of Vice President Joe Biden’s motorcade, according to police.

The incident happened in the area of Mt. Elliott and Medbury, said Sgt. Cassandra Lewis, spokeswoman for the Detroit Police Department. Lewis did not yet know the details of the incident. The officer was taken to a hospital, she said.

Biden is in town Thursday to speak about the economy and that city’s transportation system at the Detroit Department of Transportation headquarters on Warren in Detroit.
