Police seek suspect in armed robbery at ATM in Detroit

Detroit police are asking for the public’s help in locating a suspect wanted for an armed robbery earlier this month on the city’s east side.

The incident happened shortly after midnight Oct. 1 in the area of East Warren near Maynard.

A suspect approached a 57-year-old man who was in his vehicle making an ATM withdrawal, police said. The suspect, armed with a handgun, ordered the victim to give him all of his money.

The victim fled leaving his bank card and money in the ATM. He was not harmed. The suspect completed the transaction and fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of money, police said.

The suspect is described as a 20-year-old male, 6 feet tall and 160 pounds. He was wearing a light tan or blue hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans.
