Detroit — A man was shot overnight during a carjacking on the city’s east side, according to police.
The man, whose age and hometown were not available, was shot while pumping gas around 1:20 a.m. Monday at a Sunoco gas station at Seven Mile and Dequindre, Sgt. Michael Woody said.
“He was approached by the suspects who announced a hold-up,” Woody said. “The suspects shot and robbed the victim of his vehicle.”
The two unknown suspects fled the scene in the victim’s black 2012 Dodge Challenger, Woody said.
“The suspects drove off in an unknown direction and the victim was conveyed privately to St. John’s Hospital,” he said.
