Detroit police are seeking help from the public to find two people wanted in connection with an armed robbery of a cab driver last weekend on the city’s west side.

The 50-year-old victim was pumping gas at about 12:45 a.m. Sunday in the 3700 block of West McNichols when two males approached him from behind, pointed a gun at his face and demanded the driver’s belongings, police said in a statement.

“The victim struggled with one of the suspects and two shots were fired at him,” police said. The cab driver was not struck.

The driver gave one of the suspects his belongings while the other rummaged through the cab, police said.

The suspects, whom police described only as black males, then fled the scene.

Investigators on Thursday released video footage of the pair.

Anyone who knows their whereabouts or has any information relating to the incident is asked to call the Detroit Police Department at (313) 596-1245 or Crime Stoppers of Michigan at 1-800-SPEAK UP.
