Man shot at coney island in Detroit

Detroit — An argument in a coney island led to the shooting of a man on the city’s east side early Thursday morning.

According to Sgt. Michael Woody, the incident occurred at about 1 a.m. at the All American Coney Island, located at 11001 Morang.

“The victim was taken to St. John Hospital. where he remains in critical condition,” Woody said.

The shooter is described as a black male, 18 to 20 years of age, 6-foot-1 and 200 pounds. He is clean shaven and has long braids and a dark complexion.

“At the time of the shooting, he was wearing a red sweater and black sweat pants,” Woody said.

According to police, the shooter escaped in a black SUV, or possibly a Chevrolet Silverado. Five others were in the vehicle at the time of the incident.
