Police: Man shot in Detroit robbery attempt
Detroit police are seeking two people they say shot and tried to rob a man near a party store Friday night on the city’s west side.
A married couple was sitting in a Buick outside the business in the 22400 block of West Warren about 9:30 p.m. when two males armed with long guns approached them, Detroit Police Officer Jennifer Moreno said. “One of the suspects fired a shot, striking the victim and critically wounding him,” she said.
The suspects, whom investigators described only as two African-American men wearing all black, fled on foot without taking any belongings, Moreno said.
The victim, a 46-year-old man, remained hospitalized early Saturday. His wife was not injured.
Authorities did not release additional details.
Anyone with information on the shooting is asked to call the Detroit Police Department at (313) 596-5640.
