Detroit woman, 36, dies in crash on I-75

Allen Park — Police have reported the death of a 36-year-old Detroit woman who was killed after her 1998 Buick was rear-ended by a semi on Saturday evening.

Additionally, an unrestrained infant in the back seat of the Buick remains in critical condition Monday while an adult passenger received sustained minor injuries in the crash.

According to the Michigan State Police, Detroiter Dawn Spicer was killed in the crash, which occurred at about 7:35 p.m. on southbound Interstate 75 near Goddard.

Police said Spicer’s car was either stopped, or was slowing down, partially blocking the right lane of the freeway. It was then rear-ended by a Freight Liner truck.

Spicer died at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call MSP Trooper Jon Connor at (734) 287-5000.
