Man found dead with deep laceration wound in Detroit
Detroit — A man was found dead early Tuesday in southwest Detroit with a deep laceration wound, police said.
The man, approximately 60 years old, was discovered around 8:15 a.m. by a homeowner on the 2000 block of Deacon Street, just south of Fort Street, Officer Shanelle Williams said.
“The victim had a deep laceration to the body,” said Williams, adding she could not specify what part of the man’s body was injured.
The victim had a “business relationship” with the homeowner, Williams said. She declined to comment on whether the homeowner was considered a suspect.
“I can’t speak to it,” she said. “It’s still an open and active investigation.”
No description of a suspect was immediately availiable.
“We are still very early in our investigation,” Williams said. “Obviously, things are still fresh, so (no suspects) at this time.”
