Detroit police are investigating a shooting that left one person dead on the city’s west side Wednesday night.

Gunfire was reported outside a liquor store near McNichols and Outer Drive at about 6:50 p.m., said Sgt. Cassandra Lewis, a spokeswoman for the Detroit Police Department.

The victim, whose name and age have not been released, was pronounced dead at the scene, she said.

A description of the shooter was not available. No other injuries were reported in the incident.
