Arrest made in Greektown armored truck heist
A man was arrested Thursday in the theft of $500,000 from an armored truck outside a Detroit casino last month.
He was identified by the FBI as David Lanell Troupe. His age and hometown weren’t disclosed.
Troupe was arrested at a home in Detroit on Burlingame near Linwood, said FBI spokeswoman Jill Washburn. Washburn said she believed Troupe was in his 20s.
She didn’t know where Troupe was being held. He has not been arraigned.
In the incident, investigators allege Troupe walked up to the armored truck Nov. 28 while it was parked outside the Greektown Casino. Dressed in a security guard uniform, he unloaded several bags of money from the back of the truck and walked off, said authorities.
He never brandished a weapon or threatened anyone, police said.
