Police arrest suspect in Detroit home invasion
Detroit — Police have taken into custody a suspect in a home invasion last week.
The arrest comes hours after police released images and video of the male suspect. No further information was available for release Tuesday afternoon, said Detroit Police Sgt. Cassandra Lewis.
According to police the suspect forced entry Dec. 22 into a home on the 19000 block of Prairie. The burglary was caught on surveillance footage timestamped for 4:56 p.m., however, police in a statement said the incident took place between the hours of 10 a.m. and 5 p.m.
The man was caught on video as he stood on a light-colored swivel chair beside some hairdressing mannequins outside the home. He then pried the screen from a window beside a door covered by bars. At the end of the clip, the man crawled through the opened window and into the home.
The homeowner reported personal property missing from the location, police said.
