Two hospitalized in New Year’s Eve shooting in Detroit

Police are investigating a New Year’s Eve shooting that has left two men hospitalized.

Detroit Police Sgt. Cassandra Lewis said the shooting unfolded in the area of Clark and Porter around 9 p.m. The men, ages 26 and 29, were taken to a hospital. One is in critical condition, the other temporary-serious, she said.

Lewis said the suspects were known to the victims.

Authorities did not immediately release any more information about the suspects or circumstances surrounding the incident.

The weapons used in the shootings have not been recovered, police said.
