Detroit — Police are looking for the public’s help in finding a man accused of robbing an elderly patron of his casino winnings more than a month ago.

A 77-year old man had won a jackpot at a local gaming establishment Dec. 7. At 9:30 p.m., “a male suspect approached and grabbed the envelope of winnings from him,” according to a release from the police.

The 77-year-old was not injured, and the man suspected of robbing him was not armed. That man is described as a male in his 30s, with a medium complexion and medium build.

A month later, police are still looking for clues, which is why they’ve reached out to the media.

Those who have information on the incident are being asked to call police at 313-596-1340. Those who have information but would prefer anonymity can call Crime Stoppers of Michigan at 1-800-SPEAK-UP. The office where Crime Stoppers receives its tips is based in Canada and has no caller ID.

Police did not say the name of the casino where the man hit the jackpot, but MotorCity Casino Hotel is located on the same block where the man was robbed.
