Detroit — A worker who got trapped in a ditch at a construction site on the west side of Detroit on Monday had to be rescued by firefighters.
The worker, whose identity wasn’t released by authorities, was taken to a local hospital. He wasn’t seriously injured, said officials.
It wasn’t known how the worker got ensnared in the ditch, which apparently had just been dug by a backhoe, said a fire official.
The incident occurred late Monday afternoon at a construction site at Lafayette and 10th Street.
Firefighters freed him from the ditch and transported him to the hospital.
The ditch reportedly was 10-12 feet deep.
