Detroit — Tips have led to the recovery of an 84-year-old Detroit man missing since Monday, police said.

William Jacobs was found “because he was recognized after he was profiled in the media” about 7:50 p.m. Tuesday at the Detroit Rescue Mission on Third, police said in a statement. He was in good physical health and transported back to an adult foster care home in the 16700 block of St. Mary’s.

Jacobs was last seen at 9:30 a.m. Monday when Detroit police took him to John Dingell VA Medical Center on John R. Police had been called to Elisa Angel Services on St. Mary’s after Jacobs became unruly, said his caretaker at the group home, Yolanda Stewart.

Stewart said Jacobs, who has signs of dementia, came into the facility’s care about two to three weeks ago.
