Visitors to this weekend’s Meridian Winter Blast in downtown Detroit can expect several road closures, city officials said.

The Detroit Department of Public Works is alerting drivers about the following street closings:

■Cadillac Square from Woodward to Bates has a full closure through Tuesday

■Woodward from Congress to State/Gratiot has a full closure through Tuesday

Free ice skating and a giant snow slide are returning to Campus Martius for the Winter Blast, which runs 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday; 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday.

This year, with the ongoing Flint water crisis, the cold-weather festivities stand to raise tens of thousands of dollars for the Community Foundation of Greater Flint.

Requested admission is a donation of three canned food items, one children’s book or $2 to Matrix Human Services. Winter Blast sponsors will match attendees’ donations in varying ways. Sponsor Talmer Bank will give $1 to the CFGF for each person who rides Winter Blast’s 30-foot snow slide, while Meridian Health Plan will match all funds raised for the CFGF at Winter Blast up to $40,000.
