Detroit police seek missing girl, 15

Detroit — Police are looking for a 15-year-old girl who disappeared Tuesday on her way to visit a friend around the block from her home on the city’s west side.

Sharonda Henson was last seen by her mother around 6 p.m. on the 16000 block of Ellis Street near Greenfield and Joy roads, police said. She planned to visit a friend around the corner on the 8900 block of Mansfield Street.

She never made it to her friend’s home, police said.

Henson is described by police as an African-American teen with black hair and brown eyes. She is 5-foot-5 and 130 pounds. She was last seen carrying a multicolored purse and wearing a black bubble jacket, light blue jeans and gray winter boots.

She is in good physical and mental condition, police said.
