Michigan State Police are looking to identify a woman who was hit while walking on northbound Interstate 75 in Detroit on Sunday morning.

Police got calls, at about 1 a.m. Sunday morning, that a woman was walking in the right and center lanes on I-75 near Clark.

Michigan State Police are responsible for patrolling the freeways in Michigan.

Minutes later, the police got another call — this time, from a motorist who hit the woman. The woman is said to have been wearing black clothes, police said.

The woman was transported to Detroit Receiving Hospital, and was in critical condition. State police have not been able to identify the woman and are asking anyone with information on who the woman might be, or who might have witnessed the crash, to call (248) 584-5740.

The driver of the vehicle that struck the woman did not flee and was not ticketed, said Lt. Mike Shaw of the Michigan State Police.
