Detroit — A 23-year-old woman was hospitalized early Monday after she was sexually assaulted, robbed and carjacked on the city’s east side, police said.

The woman was attacked around 2:30 a.m. at Medbury and Seminole, Officer Dan Donakowski said. She was sitting inside her vehicle when an armed suspect approached.

“He was armed, but I don’t have what he was armed with,” Donakowski said. “She was sexually assaulted and he took her 2002 Chevy Malibu.”

The man is described by police as a black male with a light complexion, around 5-foot-9 with an Afro and goatee. He was wearing a black coat, black hat and army fatigue pants, Donakowski said.

Anyone with information is asked to call Detroit police at (313) 596-2200 or Crime Stoppers at 1 (800) SPEAK-UP.
