Detroit police: Woman injures two men in hit-and-run

Two men are seriously injured after a woman wearing medical scrubs purposely struck them with her vehicle late Tuesday, according to police.
The woman ran over the victims around 11:40 p.m. at Roxbury and Whittier on the city’s east side, Officer Dan Donakowski said.
One man, 26, was hospitalized in critical condition while a second, 33, was listed in serious condition.
“When officers arrived, there was a large crowd in the street,” Donakowski said. “There appeared to be a verbal altercation going on.”
It was unclear early Wednesday whether the altercation began before or after the hit-and-run, he said.
The suspect was described by witnesses as a black woman wearing medical scrubs and driving a black 2005 or 2006 Pontiac Grand Prix, Donakowski said. She was short and had a dark complexion, slim build and long hair.
If found, the woman faces possible charges including felonious assault with a motor vehicle, Donakowski said.
It was unknown early Wednesday if the victims have been able to speak with investigators. Circumstances of the attack were unclear and remained under investigation.
