Two men were shot, one fatally, early Monday morning near a liquor store on Detroit’s west side, said Officer Dan Donakowski of the Detroit Police Department.

The victims are a 26-year-old man, who died of his injuries, and a 40-year-old man who was left in critical condition.

The two were inside a red 2013 Dodge Durango about 12:25 a.m. when a man approached on foot and started shooting, taking aim at the passenger’s side, where the 26-year-old was sitting. The incident took place in the parking lot of Spotlight Liquor, on the 24300 block of West McNichols, west of Telegraph Road, Donakowski said.

Police describe the suspect as a fair-complected male who was wearing a black hoodie, dark blue jeans, and white gym shoes.
