The scene seemed to unfold unremarkably enough: a gold Dodge Caliber starts backing out of a pharmacy parking lot on Detroit’s west side; then another car pulls in.

If anyone recognizes this vehicle or may have any information please call 313-596-2260.

The footage filmed last weekend in the 10000 block of West McNichols shows that second vehicle pausing and approaching the other. Within seconds, police say, an unknown person fired several shots, leaving one person in the Dodge dead and injuring another.

Investigators on Wednesday released video and a picture from the incident in hopes of sparking tips.

A description of the car was not available, but a nearby camera captured it entering the parking lot at the same time the Dodge was leaving about 1:30 a.m. April 16.

The shooting is not visible in the brief clip.

The driver, identified as a 25-year-old woman, later died; her 40-year old male passenger suffered a non-fatal gunshot wound, officials said in a statement.

Anyone who recognizes the vehicle involved or has any information related to the crime is asked to call the Detroit Police Department Homicide Unit at (313) 596-2260 or Crime Stoppers of Michigan at 1-800-SPEAK-UP.
