Man dies in crash near Michigan Central Train Depot
An unidentified man died early Thursday in a fiery, singe-vehicle crash near the Michigan Central Train Depot in Detroit, according to police.
“A silver Dodge Neon hit a utility pole,” Officer Dan Donakowski of the Detroit Police Department said of the 3:40 a.m. crash at Michigan and 14th. “The vehicle burst into flames and the body was burned beyond any recognition inside of the vehicle.”
Officials temporarily closed 14th during the initial investigation but the roadway has since reopened, Donakowski said.
It remained unclear early Thursday if alcohol or drugs were factors in the crash, he said.
