Man fatally stabbed in southwest Detroit
An unidentified man was fatally stabbed early Friday morning at Michigan and Tarnow in southwest Detroit and a suspect is in custody, Detroit police say.
Sgt. Michael Woody said officers initially responded to a report around 12:30 a.m. that a man, believed to be about 37 years old, had been shot and was lying in the middle of the street.
However, when paramedics transported him to a local hospital, it was discovered that he had been stabbed in the leg. The man died at the hospital, police said.
It is unclear what events led up to the stabbing, Woody said.
