Two firefighters injured in Detroit blaze

Two firefighters were injured early Tuesday afternoon fighting a blaze on the city’s west side, according to the Detroit Fire Department.

The house fire broke out around 12:15 p.m. at 14th and Hazelwood, Capt. Gerod Funderburg said.

“Two firefighters were transported to Detroit Receiving (Hospital),” he said.

Their conditions were not immediately available. The cause of the fire also remained unknown as firefighters continued fighting the blaze Tuesday afternoon.
