Detroit police are seeking tips from the public to find a suspect accused of robbing three Family Dollar stores on the city’s east side.

Investigators say the man wielded a nickel-plated handgun when targeting a store in the 14300 block of Gratiot at about 4:15 p.m. May 20, then another at noon Saturday in the 12500 block of Morang. The third incident was reported at 4:30 p.m. May 21 in the 8700 block of East Seven Mile.

Authorities on Thursday released images of the suspect, who is described as an African American man in his 20s. He possibly fled the scenes in a silver or gray vehicle, police said in a statement.

“The pictured suspect should be considered armed and dangerous,” the notice read.

Anyone who recognizes the suspect, knows his whereabouts or has information is asked to call Detroit police at (313) 596-1616 or Crime Stoppers of Michigan at 1-800-SPEAK-UP.
