Emerson Elementary/Middle School, on Detroit’s northwest side, is partially closed Wednesday due to a building problem, Detroit Public Schools announced.

The middle school, serving sixth- through eighth-graders, is closed.

The elementary school, serving pre-kindergartners through fifth-graders, is open.

Teachers and staff at both schools are still required to report to work.
