Elderly woman dies in Detroit house fire

An 85-year-old Detroit woman died Tuesday morning during a house fire on the city’s east side, officials said.

The fire department was alerted to the blaze around 10:51 a.m. in the 18900 block of Teppert.

It is unclear if anyone else was in the home during the time of the fire, officials said.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
