A 27-year-old Detroit woman and a 19-year-old man were charged Friday in connection with the fatal shooting of the father of her children, prosecutors announced.

Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy has charged Victoria Solomon and Montez Maxwell in the deadly shooting of 26-year-old Tyrone Delaney on Wednesday. The incident occurred around 1:45 a.m. outside a home in the 16500 block of Snowden.

Solomon allegedly got into an argument with Delaney over their children when the woman allegedly reached into her purse and handed a handgun to Maxwell, who then allegedly went up to Delaney and shot him several times. Delaney was pronounced dead at the scene.

Solomon was arrested later Wednesday. Maxwell fled on foot from the home but later turned himself into police.

Both Solomon and Delaney were charged with first-degree premeditated murder and one count of felony firearm. They are expected to be arraigned on the charges Friday in 36th District Court.
