Cyclist, 47, killed in hit-and-run on west side

A 47-year-old woman was fatally struck while riding her bike on Detroit’s west side Monday night, Detroit police said.

It was about 9:05 Monday night when the woman was riding her bike in the area of Grand River and Lothrop and was hit by what police say is a silver Chrysler. She died from her injuries.

The driver of the Chrysler didn’t stop after hitting the woman, Officer Shanelle Williams of the Detroit Police Department said. Police are looking for that vehicle.
