In less than a minute one night last weekend, a suspect is seen loading a dark bag with a host of items swiped from behind the counter at the convenience store on Detroit’s east side.

He was only a few feet away from a nearby surveillance camera, which captured footage of him that authorities hope generate tips leading to his arrest.

Investigators say the man broke into the In & Out convenience store in the 17000 block of East Warren at about 1:30 a.m. Saturday, then stole an undisclosed amount of money and cigarettes.

A brief video clip the Detroit Police Department released Thursday shows the man — appearing in a black T-shirt, jeans, skull cap and gloves — hurriedly reaching up and stooping low to grab goods.

Anyone who recognizes him or has information relating to the crime is asked to call Detroit Police 5th Precinct Detectives at (313) 596-5540. Anonymous tips can also be left through the DPD Connect app or by calling Crime Stoppers of Michigan at 1-800-SPEAK-UP.
