The Detroit News
A 71-year-old woman was attacked and killed by her pit bull Saturday night inside her southwest Detroit home.
Detroit Police Sgt. Michael Woody said on Sunday that police were called around 8 p.m. to the house in the 2000 block of Ferdinand.
“Her pit bull turned on her. The dog bit her and knocked her down and then bit her neck severing her jugular,” Woody said.
He said the woman had three other dogs in the home.
Woody said animal control took the pit bull from the home and they will determine the fate of the dog after an investigation.
