Crews extinguished a vehicle fire Monday at the Greektown Casino parking garage, according to the Detroit Fire Department.

“The 911 call came in at 10:16 a.m,” said Chief Dale Bradley, adding that the scene was cleared by about 12 p.m. Monday.

The blaze was reported on the seventh floor of the garage at Monroe and Interstate 75, Bradley said.

“When the engine company got there it was bigger than they expected so that’s when they called for a commercial box alarm, which means more manpower,” he said.

The fire was put out with no injuries to personnel or passersby, Bradley added.
