Driver sought in fatal hit-and-run in Detroit
Detroit police have released surveillance images of a vehicle they believe was involved in a fatal hit-and-run on the city’s west side early this month.
A woman was in the street near Fenkell and Wisconsin at about 9:20 p.m. on Aug. 3 when someone driving an SUV allegedly struck her, then kept heading west, investigators said.
The victim, identified as Kenyana Twuleeka Asbell, 38, died of multiple injuries, the Wayne County Medical Examiner’s Office said.
A description of the driver is not available, but police described the vehicle as a dark 2002-2009 Chevy TrailBlazer. The SUV “will have front end damage to its grill,” police said.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Detroit police at (313) 596-2260. Anonymous tips can also be left through Crime Stoppers of Michigan at (800) SPEAK-UP.
